Three bodies were discovered Thursday afternoon following a Wednesday evening party on Great Falls Drive , police said. CBS 2’s Charlie De Mar reports.
Joliet police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 3:00 p.m. Thursday September 7, 2017 to a report of three people unresponsive after a shooting in the block of 1900 Great Falls Drive. Officers arrived on-scene and were met by an individual who directed the officers into the residence, where the bodies of three adult victims were discovered. The incident is currently being investigated as a homicide. There was a party at the Joliet home Wednesday night.
Joliet police discovered the bodies of three adults shot to death inside the residence, and initially believe the shooting took place overnight at the party.
Joliet police informed the public that the case is not considered a random act and they believe the victims and those responsible are acquainted. Neighbors said they were aware that a party was taking place Wednesday night, but apparently no shots fired calls were reported Wednesday night.
The neighborhood edge, considered a quiet subdivision, is in the northwest Joliet and Plainfield aree, and is located near a large pond to the northeast and a large field to the east.
Police initially did not release the identities of the victims. Residents that lived in the home have lived in the neighborhood for about 13 years. Police know the identities of the victims, but report they do not know the identities of the suspects.
The investigation is ongoing and the police are seeking the public’s help in identifying all the individuals that attended the party.
Joliet police urge any citizens with information about the case to call Joliet Police Department Investigations at 815-724-3020.
