Crystal Lake police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 8:50 p.m. Sunday September 24, 2017 to a report of a serious crash involving an SUV and a motorcycle at Virginia Road and Rakow Road.
Police and firefighter/paramedics upon arrival discovered an adult male motorcyclist down with life-threatening injuries. The man was treated by paramedics at the scene, and rushed to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead while receiving Advanced Life Support treatment.
The teenage driver of the SUV — a blue Ford Expedition — was southbound on Virginia Road when he turned east on to Rakow Road and struck the victim and his Harley-Davidson motorcycle, according to police. The 17-year-old male driver of the Ford Expedition was not injured.
There was no word on charges or citations as of Monday morning, September 25, 2017.
