Lake Bluff Verizon Store Robbery: Three Arrested After Chase into Highland Park

Three people are in custody following an armed robbery and a police chase that started in Lake Bluff and ended in Highland Park on Friday.

Lake Bluff police responded about 4:13 p.m., Friday September 8, 2017 to a report that three men robbed a Verizon Wireless store at gunpoint at 232 South Waukegan Road in Lake Bluff. Two of the three suspects were reported to be armed with guns.

According to Lake Bluff police, employees were tied up during the robbery and placed in the back of the store. None of the Verizon Wireless employees were injured.

Descriptions of the three suspects from the armed robbery were sent out to area police departments. Police the suspects’ vehicle, which was discovered to be a stolen vehicle.

The police pursued the suspects about eight miles southbound on Route 41, where the suspects’ vehicle crashed near the Jewel-Osco and the Highland Park Police Department headquarter on Deerfield Road east of US 41, and also near Old Deerfield Road.

Police reported they found more than 20 cell phones and other pieces of equipment along with a firearm in the vehicle.
