Harvard Man, 21, Killed While Moving from Driver’s Seat to Pickup Truck Bed on Crowley Rd

Harvard police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 9:35 p.m. Saturday September 9, 2017 to a report of a man who fell out of a truck on Crowley Road west of Harvard Hills Road. Harvard Fire and Rescue and Harvard police found the body of Joshua M. Trepanier’s on the pavement at Crowley Road west of Harvard Hills Road at 9:35 p.m. Saturday. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Trepanier, the 21-year-old male driver from Harvard, was killed after reportedly getting out of of the driver’s seat of his pickup truck while it was moving.

McHenry County Coroner Anne Majewski said information was provided to her office indicating Trepanier was driving a small pickup truck with two passengers. The driver left the truck as it was moving, reportedly to get to the truck bed, and fell onto the road, suffering fatal injuries, to McHenry County Coroner Anne Majewski. The two passengers were not injured.

Majewski said an autopsy will be performed Tuesday to determine the specific injuries that caused his death.

The case remains under investigation by the Harvard Police Department and the McHenry County coroner’s office.

The McHenry County Sheriff Police Accident Investigation Unit was requested to assist the investigation.
