Gurnee Police responded Sunday September 24, 2017 to a report of a criminal sexual assault that occurred between 8:00 and 9:00 p.m. Saturday, September 23, 2017 in a wooded walking path south of the intersection of Washington Street and Route 21.
The offender is described as a male with a “tan” complexion and medium to heavy build with dark, short hair that is shaved on the sides, and a goatee. He is also described as smelling like smoke (unknown if cigarette, cigar or wood-burning) at the time of the assault.
The suspect was last seen wearing a dark, hooded sweatshirt made of lightweight material with a contrasting color logo on the left side of the chest, and dark-colored pants or sweatpants.
Gurnee police have asked for assistance locating a the male offender.
Police are assembling a composite sketch, which they plan to release upon completion.
