Illinois State Police and Northfield police responded about 12:25 a.m. Saturday August 26, 2017 to the northbound lanes of Edens Expressway (westbound I-94) near Willow Road, Northfield to a report of a shots fired incident on the expressway. Willow Road becomes Palatine Road about five miles west of the shots fired incident.
The victims reported a dark blue Nissan Altima with tinted windows was driven alongside the passenger side of the victims’ vehicle, and a male fired a single gunshot into the front passenger door, according to Illinois State Police.
The victims told police investigators that the offenders’ vehicle was occupied by four male Hispanics. The driver reportedly had a black handgun.
No injuries were reported in the incident that apparently began as road rage on the Edens Expressway near Northfield, according to Illinois State Police.
The shots fired incident is under investigation, and suspects are wanted for investigation of Unlawful Use of a Weapon.
