Fox Lake police and firefighter/paramedics and Spring Grove firefighter/paramedics responded about 4:28 AM Tuesday August 22, 2017 to a report of a motorcycle crash with injuries and one person down on the ground at State Park Road and Grass Lake Road Fox Lake, Il. Police and firefighter/paramedics received a report of a motorcycle crash with injuries and one person down on the ground. A 27 year-old male patient was seriously injured.
Flight for Life requested by Grayslake Battalion Chief 22. The helicopter landing zone (LZ) was designated at the Liquor Hole property on State Park Road north of Grass Lake Road.
Spring Grove Ambulance 352 was en route to the Landing Zone with a patient on board by 4:50 p.m. as the Flight for Life helicopter was flying toward the landing zone.
The Flight for Life helicopter reported a 4:57 p.m. ETA to the LZ, but Ambulance 352’s crew reported they were diverting transport to Centegra Hospital when the male patient’s condition worsened on board the ambulance.
The crash was also reported on Waze, and northbound State Park Road was backed up almost to Benjamin Avenue.
The crash is under investigation, and witnesses reported the motorcyclist was attempting to pass a 4-door sedan in front of him on Grass Lake Road, when he struck the driver-side rear door of the car.
