When Buffalo Grove police and Arlington Heights firefighter/paramedics arrived to a report of a an unresponsive man down on the ground in the block of 600 Trace Drive in Buffalo Grove, they discovered a man with facial injuries that was already dead.
Because the man had facial injuries, Buffalo Grove detectives worked with the Lake County Major Crime Task Force to investigate the cause of his death, police said.
Buffalo Grove police and Arlington Heights and Buffalo Grove firefighter/paramedics responded about 9:06 a.m. Sunday August 13, 2017 to a report that man was down and unresponsive in front of 639 Trace Drive at the Buffalo Ridge Apartments. Arlington Heights and Buffalo Grove firefighter/paramedics were both on the scene. Arlington Heights Engine 4’s crew were on the scene first within about a minute, and requested a confirmation that police were responding to the scene for a man that was already deceased.
According to police, evidence suggests the man died from a drug overdose, but the Cook County medical examiner’s office is awaiting toxicology results for confirmation of the preliminary results.
