Arlington Heights police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 9:45 AM Tuesday August 29, 2017 to a report of a motorcycle crash with injuries. Arlington Heights Road and Sigwalt Street Arlington Heights, Il. Police and firefighter/paramedics received a report that a motorcyclist was down after a crash with a sedan.
A motorcycle was rear-ended by a sedan on northbound Arlington Heights Road just south of Sigwalt Street.The crash was almost directly in front of the Arlington Heights office for Picket Fence Realty, where owner Sue Duchek immediately called 9-1-1 to report the personal injury crash.
Sue Duchek and Picket Fence Realty staff went out to help by turning off the motorcycle engine and helping at the scene, but were also touched to see the female driver of the sedan get down on the street to hug and console the motorcyclist while he was down on the street.
She kissed the male motorcyclist on the forehead, while the motorcyclist tried to console her back over her anguish about the crash, Duchek said. She showed genuine love and compassion for the man, who was injured by the crash, Duchek added.
The man, who might be in his 40s or 50s, was wearing a helmet. His Harley Davidson motorcycle was brand new.
He was transported to Northwest Community Hospital.
