Des Plaines police responded on Friday August 4, 2017, after an employee finding a hidden camera that fell on the floor of the women’s restroom of the store at 1858 East Oakton Street. The camera had been placed in a housing constructed to look like an electrical outlet about 1.5 feet off the floor directly in front of the toilet. The housing and camera dislodged from Velcro that was set up to attach the device to the wall.
Des Plaines police detectives believe the device had been installed the night before on Thursday August 3, 2017 at the Walgreens at the northwest corner of Oakton Street and River Road.
Des Plaines police, investigating the hidden camera installed in the women’s restroom at the southeast Walgreens in Des Plaines, report the device recorded 20 people prior to discovery. The memory card that was discovered installed inside the camera is being sent to the Illinois State Police crime lab for further investigation.
