Illinois State Police, Elk Grove Village Police, Itasca Police and Elk Grove Village paramedics responded about 4:17 p.m. Friday July 7, 2017 to come to the aid of a stabbing victim at the Mobil gas station at the southwest corner of Arlington Heights Road and Devon Avenue Itasca, IL. Police received a report that a man was stabbed on an expressway nearby.
No description of the offender was available. The stabbing occurred before 4:12 p.m. Friday.
The stabbing victim was transported to Level I Trauma Center Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge by Elk Grove Village firefighter/paramedics, officials said.
The victim’s injuries did not initially appear to be life-threatening, according to Illinois State Police Master Sgt. Jason Bradley.
The Illinois State Police are leading the investigation because the incident occurred on Illinois State Police jurisdiction on an expressway.
