Lake County Sheriff’s deputies will be featured on the top-rated reality show LIVE PD on A&E this week.

The Lake County Sheriff’s Office announced Thursday July 6, 2017 that cameras from the A&E program “LIVE PD” will ride along with deputies from several divisions, including highway patrol, marine unit, warrants team, gang task force and criminal investigations starting July 10, 2017.

Lake County officials said the LIVE PD partnership will give the community “an inside look at the many responsibilities” and “variety of calls” handled by deputies.

LIVE PD, which premiered October 2016, airs Friday and Saturday nights. LIVE PD includes dash-cam video, handheld cameras, and fixed rig cameras. The program is hosted by ABC legal analyst Dan Abrams and co-host Tom Morris Jr.

Abrams is joined in-studio with Co-Host, Tom Morris, Jr., and one or two experts in the law enforcement field who answer questions, explaining why certain actions may have been taken by officers on the scene. Each episode opens with an on-going police call and television coverage switches between various incidents as the episode goes on. Pre-taped segments are intermixed with live segments to fill periods lacking live action. There is an unspecified LIVE VIDEO delay to protect the television audience or on scene people from exposure of confidential or inappropriate material to broadcast on television.

LIVE PD has charted 1.5 million weekly viewers during recent broadcasts, making it the top-rated weekend show on cable so far this summer.

“I am proud and confident of the work performed by our sheriff’s personnel each day,” Curran said. “I am an advocate of transparency and this is a terrific opportunity for our office to demonstrate our core values of integrity, respect, and professionalism in action as we serve and protect.”

— Sheriff Mark Curran
