Arlington Heights firefighter/paramedics responded about 2:02 AM Saturday July 22, 2017 to a report of a lightning strike to a transformer with fire near Sunset and Douglas Arlington Heights, IL. Police and firefighter/paramedics received a report that lightning hit a transformer and that the transformer was now on fire.
Power is also out in the neighborhood. The incident was associated with one very loud and long rumbling thunder.
Fire crew from Engine 4 on scene reports a wire down with the damaged transformer.
There was no information on the ComEd Outage map for the neighborhood as of 2:50 a.m.
