* At 1043 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
heavy rain across the warned area. Up to two inches of rain have
already fallen. Flash flooding is expected to begin shortly.
* Some locations that will experience flooding include…
Chicago, Elgin, Cicero, Arlington Heights, Evanston, Schaumburg,
Palatine, Skokie, Des Plaines, Berwyn, Mount Prospect, Wheaton,
Hoffman Estates, Oak Park, Downers Grove, Glenview, Elmhurst,
Lombard, Buffalo Grove and Carol Stream.
Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 1.5 inches are possible in the
warned area.

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

TONIGHT: Showers and thunderstorms likely, mainly before midnight. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 75. South southeast wind around 5 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
TOMORROW: A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly before 1pm. Partly sunny, with a high near 93. Heat index values as high as 101. Southwest wind 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph.
Overnight Tuesday to Wednesday there is a concern for the potential of locally heavy rainfall given the west/northwest to east/southeast orientation line of storms and potential for training of thunderstorms over our area. Training is defined when thunderstorms continue to develop over a particular area and move across an area like railroad train cars.
