Arlington Heights police received a report about 12:01 PM Sunday July 23, 2017 of criminal damage to property at Lake Arlington, 1400 East Valley Lane Arlington Heights, IL. Police received a report that an unknown offender or offenders criminally damaged the bike path, using spray paint to vandalize the jogging path.
Approximately two dozen locations on the path were sprayed with powder blue spray paint.
Police did not specify whether or not any graphic symbols were detected.
The area has become a possible initializing hot spot for crime this summer with vandalism to the boat house, a residential burglary near the southwest shoreline on Jonquil Circle, and on Windsor Drive north of Lake Arlington.
The crime is reported to have occurred between Saturday, July 22, 2017 at 11:00 PM and Sunday, July 23, 2017 at 12:00 PM. The elapsed time range including the time the crime could have occurred is 13:00 (hours: minutes).
