The 83rd floor of Chicago’s future 94-story skyscraper will be completely empty for wind to blow through.
Vista Tower is a supertall high-rise that will be located just west of DuSable Harbor and just south of the Chicago River. NBC Tower, Navy Pier, the new riverfront Apple store, Sheraton Grand Chicago,Ogden Slip, Swisshotel Chicago, Lake Shore East Park, and Aqua and Radisson Blu Aqua Hotel are also in the neighborhood.
The building’s chief architect is Jeanne Gang, head of Studio Gang Architects, who also designed Aqua at 225 North Columbus Drive — an 82-story mixed-use residential skyscraper in the Lakeshore East development in downtown Chicago, Illinois.
Upon completion, Vista Tower will become the city’s third-tallest building at 1,186 feet (361 meters), surpassing Chicago’s 1,136-foot (346-meter) Aon Center, and will become the 7th tallest highrise in the United States.
Vista Tower will have 406 condominium residences, and also the five-star Wanda Vista Hotel.
