James Comey , the former FBI Director, is expected to discuss conversations he had with the President Trump prior to being relieved of his duties.
James Comey, the director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), was dismissed by U.S. President Donald Trump on May 9, 2017.
Trump said he dismissed Comey because his congressional testimony was problematic. Trump also said the United States Department of Justice alleged that Comey had mishandled the investigation into Hillary Clinton’s use of a private email server.
The FBI director is appointed for a 10-year term, and the President of the United States has the power to dismiss an FBI director for any reason.
