Buffalo Grove police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 7:36 AM Wednesday June 28, 2017 to an activated fire alarm with a report from the scene that a person was on fire and suffering from burn injuries at Vapor Bus International, 1010 Johnson Drive Buffalo Grove, Il. While responding, firefighters were updated that the person was no longer on fire, and that employees were attempting to get the person down from a lift inside the warehouse.
Battalion Chief 4 on arrival reported a large warehouse with nothing showing, and people directing firefighter/paramedics to the patient by 7:43 a.m. The location was possibly located near the loading dock and on the west side of the building.
Fire command reported an electric contractor suffered an electricity arcing-related injury, was conscious and alert, and was being lowered down from a lift by 7:47 a.m.
Tower Ladder 25’s crew was returned with Wheeling Truck 24’s crew already on scene.
The patient was removed from the lift by 8:00 a.m., and transported to Level I Trauma Center Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville with extra paramedics on board.
No other people were reported injured.
An electrical inspector from Buffalo Grove Building and Zoning was requested to respond to the scene.
