Arlington Heights police received a report about 9:47 PM Sunday June 18, 2017 of criminal damage to property at the First United Methodist Church, 1903 East Euclid Avenue Arlington Heights, IL. Police received a report that an unknown offender criminally damaged church property by throwing a large concrete landscaping rock at a basement window, causing the window to shatter.
The cost to repair the window was estimated at $500.00.
The offender was described as a white female in 50s, about 5’06″ – 5’07″ and wearing a yellow top. The offender was seen leaving southbound on Prindle in a gray or silver 4-door vehicle.
The crime is reported to have occurred on Sunday, June 18, 2017 at 9:46 PM.
The First United Methodist Church has reported at least a couple of cases of criminal damage recently — some involving the church sign and a rainbow flag welcoming a “meeting place for Lesbian, Gay, Bi-sexual, Transgender, and Queer + folk, who want to consider the intersection of faith and identity. LGBTQ+ persons and their allies are invited to join Rainbow Circle for their monthly worship service,” according to the official church website.
The church is also a PADS site providing hospitality, food and overnight emergency shelter to the homeless between October 1 and April 30 on Monday nights.
