According to Dayton police, a 30-year-old wrong-way driver crashed into a semi-tanker carrying gasoline on Sunday, April 30, 2017 about 4:45 p.m. The crash ignited the tanker truck and caused a delayed explosion of the tanker.
The crash killed the wrong-way driver, who was trapped inside his vehicle. The truck driver suffered minor injuries, according to the Dayton Police Department.
Interstate-75 near Riverview Avenue was shut down in both directions.
