Wheeling police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 6:28 PM Thursday to a report of a man shot in Chelsea Cove, 816 Chelsea Drive Wheeling, Il. Police and firefighter/paramedics received multiple calls of shots fired and then a report of a person shot.
Police reported the victim was a 16-year-old male.
Witness reported multiple shots were fired.
Firefighter/paramedics were staging for a short time nearby. Police reported the scene secure by 6:31 p.m.
On arrival police and firefighter/paramedics discovered a man down in the grass with a gunshot wound to the back.
The patient was transported to Level I Trauma Center Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, accompanied by police.
Police are searching for a red 2000 Toyota Corolla 4-door with license plate starting with ZZ.
Two suspects are wanted for aggravated battery with a firearm:
Suspect #1: Driver, male/Hispanic with long curly hair.
Suspect #2: Male/Hispanic wearing a white T-shirt.
The red 2000 4-door Toyota Corolla was last seen eastbound on Lake Cook Road from McHenry Road.
Northbound McHenry Road is shut down near Elmhurst Road, which is also possibly shut down.
