Schaumburg police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 12:25 PM Monday to a report of a person found unresponsive in the indoor swimming pool at International Village Apartments, 1220 East Algonquin Road Schaumburg, Il. Police and firefighter/paramedics received a report of a 40 year-old male found unconscious and not breathing in the indoor swimming pool at International Village Apartments.
Firefighter/paramedics received a report that CPR was being performed, but there were mixed reports whether the man was out of the pool or not.
A 37-year-old man was found at the bottom of the pool, CPR and Advanced Life Support measure were performed, and the man was transported to Northwest Community Hospital, where he was listed in critical condition.
Two residents rescued the man and performed CPR prior to arrival of Schaumburg firefighter/paramedics. A second ambulance was requested to the scene for a second person at the scene, but illness or injuries for the second person were unknown. Ambulance 54 was assigned at 12:47 p.m.
