Two dumpster fires behind the Jo-ann Fabric and Craft Store near LA Fitness, among multiple dumpster fires in Arlington Heights and Buffalo Grove recently.
At least two juvenile offenders have been charged in connection with three arson incidents, including the dumpster fires at an apartment building address listed in the block of 100 East Thomas Street and behind Jo-ann Fabric and Craft Store and LA Fitness. The third address was not specified by the Arlington Heights police release.
Arlington Heights and Buffalo Grove firefighters responded to several dumpster fires in the last two weeks that were believed to be intentionally set.
On Monday, May 8, 2017 about 5:25 p.m. dumpster contents were set on fire at 111 East Thomas Street, and about 5:31 p.m. behind the Jo-ann Fabric and Craft store, which was reported at 345 East Palatine Road (LA Fitness, next door).
Contents in two dumpsters behind the Jo-Ann Fabric and Craft store were burning when firefighters arrive.
At about 5:59 p.m. contents in a dumpster were set on fire at Longfellow School, 501 South Arlington Heights Road in Buffalo Grove.
Buffalo Grove also had at least two suspicious fires in dumpsters in days leading up to these three fires.
