Barrington Hills police and Barrington-Countryside FPD firefighter/paramedics responded about 5:37 PM Tuesday to a report of an unknown liquid in a creek near 237 Oak Knoll Road Barrington Hills, Il. Police and firefighter/paramedics received a report that a neighbor put a lime green substance into the outdoor gutter and the liquid traveled east to west in a creek.
The substance is believed to be more than 5 gallons.
Firefighters were told that three people touched the substance and collected some of the liquid in a bottle. They were advised to leave the bottle outside.
It was initially unknown if Flint Creek was involved or a tributary to Flint Creek was involved. The incident is located about 2,000 feet west of Barrington High School.
Weather: WIND N 8 MPH
The incident was under control by 7:24 p.m. and the Extra Alarm response for Hazmat was struck out at 7:24 p.m.
