Flash Flood Watch in effect from April 29, 07:00 PM CDT until May 1, 07:00 AM CDT
Radar images show rain mass is gradually drifting north while precipitation in the mass is moving predominantly east-northeast. Rain will probably begin by 1:00 p.m. Saturday. Severe weather is further south in Southern Illinois. Cloud tops from these storms may cut off some of the northern surge of Gulf moisture and may limit some of the heavy precipitation. Heavy rain might remain in south suburbs and further south. Worst case scenario Arlington Heights and northwest suburbs could received about 3 inches of rain by Monday morning rush hour (starting Saturday afternoon).
Big temperature difference north-to-south Chicagoland, ranging from upper 40s far north and mid-70s far south. Hayward, Wisconsin will get a mix of rain and snow out of this storm Monday and Tuesday.
TODAY: Showers, mainly after 1pm. Temperature falling to around 45 by 1pm. Breezy, with a northeast wind around 20 mph, with gusts as high as 35 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New precipitation amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
TONIGHT: Showers and possibly a thunderstorm. Some of the storms could produce heavy rain. Low around 42. Breezy, with an east northeast wind 20 to 25 mph, with gusts as high as 35 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New rainfall amounts between three quarters and one inch possible.
