Lake Forest police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 11:27 AM Sunday to a report of crash with injuries at 710 Waveland Road Lake Forest, Il. Police and firefighter/paramedics received a report of an attached garage fire. The homeowner reported a fire in an attached garage and reports that a male, age 39, was missing after the fire was discovered.
Police on arrival reported heavy smoke coming from the garage.
Battalion Chief 42 on arrival by 11:31 a.m.reported a 2-story home with smoke showing from the attached garage.
BC42 reports crews were making an interior attack and had water on the fire by by 11:35 a.m. — one was person still unaccounted for at 11:35 a.m..
The fire was declared out by 11:37 a.m. and a victim was discovered in the garage. Fire command requested the Lake County Coroner respond to the scene by 11:38 a.m.
According to Lake County Dr. Howard Cooper, the man, whose identity was not immediately released, was found in the garage area.
A death investigation was immediately underway, but homicide was not suspected. The home is located almost one mile south of Onwentsia Club Golf Course, east of US 41.
