Lake Forest police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 3:10 AM Wednesday to a report of a train derailment at Route 41 and Deerpath Rd Lake Forest, Il. Police and firefighter/paramedics received a report that a Union Pacific train derailed. The main fire, police and railroad activity was just north of Deerpath Road.

As of 5:35 a.m. there was no information about the hazardous material or materials the train was transporting. All rail cars are tankers. At least 10 cars from the Union Pacific train derailed about 3:10 a.m. near Route 41 and West Deerpath Road, according to a statement from Lake Forest police. No injuries were reported.
Public traffic is still open with only one lane blocked.
