Gulf Shores police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 10:00 am. Tuesday morning to Route 59 to a report of a multiple injury vehicle vs. pedestrian incident at Gulf Shores Parkway (Route 59) and Clubhouse Drive in Gulf Shores, Alabama (LIVE TRAFFIC MAP).
A vehicle was driven into a crowd in Gulf Shores, Alabama and struck several band members marching in the Gulf Shores Mardi Gras parade. Multiple people were injured and were being treated on the street in Gulf Shores.
Eleven marching band members of the Gulf Shores High School Marching Band were transported to local hospitals. Three of the band members are reported to be in critical condition at the hospital.
The offending vehicle was reported to be a white van, and might have been a unit in the parade.
