Illinois State Police and Chicago Police responded about 9:00 p.m. Wednesday to the Eisenhower Expressway from the Loop to near Ashland Avenue after receiving a report that a vehicle was hit by a bullet.
A man that was traveling on the Eisenhower Expressway (I-290) arrived home and noticed a bullet hole in his car about 9:00 p.m. He called police to report the damage.
Police said there were no injuries, but the police searched the expressway for evidence, such as casings. The outbound Eisenhower Expressway was shut down from the Loop to Ashland Avenue, following the location described by the victim.
The Eisenhower Expressway (I-290) reopened about 10:43 p.m.
