Arlington Heights police received a report Tuesday of a theft of jewelry at Transitional Care of Arlington Heights, 1200 North Arlington Heights Road Arlington Heights, IL. Police received a report that an unknown offender or offenders took more than $5,000 in jewelry from a patient’s room at the rehabilitation care facility just north of Fire Station 2 near Arlington Heights Road and Oakton Street.
The first theft at Transitional Care, 1200 N. Arlington Heights Road, was reported to police on Tuesday, January 9, 2017, and involved about $5,000 in jewelry stolen from a room at the facility some time between Dec. 24 and Dec. 31, 2017.
According to police, the victim was visiting her spouse and was wearing jewelry she only wore for special occasions. The woman removed the jewelry and left it in the room. When she returned to the room, she realized that the jewelry was missing.
In a second theft, a Samsung Galaxy S4 cell phone valued at $250 was reported stolen. Theft at the facility is believed to have occurred between 10:45 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
