A multi-tenant dining pavilion addition in Woodfield Mall costing more than $14 million is expected to open in 2018 after a possible starting construction date in April 2017. The recent renovation of Woodfield Mall two years ago cost $13.9 million. Woodfield revealed those plans for its brighter, cleaner, and more futuristic look in January 2015 on Twitter.
Woodfield General Manager Kurt Webb made the announcement Tuesday morning at Chandler’s Banquets as one of the guest speakers at Schaumburg Mayor Al Larson’s annual state of the village address to the Schaumburg Business Association.
Construction could begin in April, but would until 2018 to reach completion. The new dining pavilion will be located near the Sears store.
A more formal announcement is expected soon with illustrations.
Woodfield reported a 5 percent November-to-November increase in sales among the non-anchor stores at Woodfield in 2016. December results were not yet available.
