The Naperville Sun is reporting that a surveillance video from a Mobil gas station at the intersection of Ogden Avenue and Aurora Avenue in Naperville shows an Aurora Fire Department ambulance traveling through a red traffic light during a personal injury rollover crash at the intersection. The crash injured two paramedics and a Naperville woman.
The Naperville Sun reports it was undetermined whether the ambulance had its lights and sirens activated at the time of the crash in the video they were permitted to view at the Mobil gas station. A Dense Fog Advisory was in effect when the collision occurred, and apparently the dense fog prevented the determination.
Security video recorded by the Mobil service station at the northeast corner of Aurora and Ogden avenues showed Aurora Fire Department Paramedic Ambulance 8 traveling westbound on Aurora Avenue through a red light before striking a black or dark-colored 1998 Toyota Camry.
The Naperville Sun reported that sales consultant Jerry Iverson at Woody Buick GMC across Ogden Avenue from the Mobil gas station coincided with the information obtained from the Mobil gas station video, however Woody Buick GMC declined to allow the Naperville Sun to view the video.
