Batavia police and firefighter/paramedics responded Friday morning to a report of a woman not breathing in a home in the 1100 block of Rye Court — a cul de sac near Chillem Drive. Police confirmed in a news release that they are investigating the death of a 21-year-old woman. The death is described by police as “suspicious” and police are searching for her husband.

Police did not release the name of the woman, who was transported to Delnor Hospital in Geneva.

According to Kane County Coroner Rob Russell, an autopsy was done Friday afternoon, but a cause of death won’t be determined until toxicology tests are completed.

Russell declined to release her name because her family had not yet been notified.

Police say they want to speak with a “person of interest” who is believed to be driving the woman’s 2006 white Honda Pilot with Illinois license plate Q 388 986. The “person of interest” is a white male, who was last seen wearing all black clothing.
