Lake Zurich police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 5:54 PM Wednesday to and Activated Fire Alarm and then a report of a fire or smoke at Jewel-Osco 485 Ela Road Lake Zurich, Il. Police and firefighter/paramedics received a report of a smoke inside the back of the store at the Lake Zurich Jewel-Osco.
Crews on arrival reported evacuation of customers and staff.
Lake Zurich’s Battalion Chief on arrival reported smoke inside the store.
The smoke may have been caused by a problem with the a commercial refrigerator.
Firefighters reported that a primary search of the store was underway to check that all people inside the store were safely evacuated.
