The driver of the semi-trailer truck was apprehended by police and a passenger inside the cab at the time of the crash was killed during a terror attack on a Christmas market in Berlin. The mass killing using an 18-wheeler truck is being investigated as an act of terrorism. The attack occurred near Breitscheidplatz Square, and not far from the Berlin Zoo.
