Arlington Heights police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 2:45 PM Tuesday to a report of a car vs pole crash with injuries at 1415 South Arlington Heights Road Arlington Heights, Il. Police and firefighter/paramedics received a report that a car crashed into a ComEd electric power pole.
Engine 3’s on arrival reported a car struck an electric pole with structural instability to the upper part of the pole.
Arlington Heights Road was blocked in both directions between White Oak Street and Emerson Street (Update: Looks like northbound is opening up).
Arlington Heights Road may be blocked for an extended period for replacement of an electric power pole. Barricades are going up.
ComEd reported about 72 customers without power in the area. ComEd reports that some customers near Heritage Park are expected to have their power restored by 5:00 p.m. Customers closer to Arlington Heights Road are expected to have power restored by 6:15 p.m.
