Bill Murray is planning to open a restaurant and bar with a “Caddyshack” theme in northwest suburban Rosemont, Illinois on River Road. Murray Bros. plan to build their eatery in the Crowne Plaza Hotel on River Road, across the street from the Rosemont Theatre.
Murray and his brothers reportedly plan to build their eatery in the Crowne Plaza Hotel on River Road, across the street from the Rosemont Theatre. There is no word yet on whether the tavern will be open in time for golf season this spring.
Murray has a Caddyshack theme inspired by the classic comedy movie in St. Augustine, Florida. Nearby in St. Augustine is the World Golf Hall of Fame & Museum, and championship golf courses, the King & Bear and the Slammer & Squire. Also nearby is the Murray Bros Caddyshack flagship location is the Renaissance WGV Resort and Beach Club.
In 2001, actor comedian Bill Murray and his five brothers – chef Andy, actors Brian, Joel and John, and financial executive Edward opened Murray Bros. Caddyshack® at World Golf Village, St. Augustine, Florida. The complex is located at 1 World Golf Pl, St Augustine, just west of Interstate 95.
Bill and the Murray brothers got hooked on golf while growing up in Wilmette while they worked as caddies at local golf courses. Brian Doyle Murray wrote the classic golf comedy, Caddyshack. Many of the brothers participated in the making of the movie and can be found standing around in some of the funniest scenes. Bill Murray is frequently seen about town when a PGA tournament is in the area.
