Des Plaines police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 12:21 PM Friday to a report of an apartment fire at 930 Beau Drive Des Plaines, Il. Police and firefighter/paramedics received a report of an apartment fire on the third floor.
Engine 63’s crew on arrival by 12:25 p.m. reported a multi-story, multi-family building with a fire on the first floor. The crew was were pulling a cross-lay hose arrangement to knock down the fire from the outside.
RED Center dispatch reported about 12:25 p.m. that there was a victim outside in front of the building.
Engine 63’s crew reported by 12:28 p.m. that the victim is being tended to, and that the fire was knocked from the outside. Firefighters announced they were going interior to finish extinguishing the fire and hot spots.
The fire was declared under control with victim being evaluated in an ambulance by 12:35 p.m.
Firefighters also rescue-assisted the evacuation of another resident from inside the building.
