San Antonio police launch manhunt for the person who shot a 20-year veteran police officer and detective.
Police officers were shot in St. Louis, Missouri; St Louis, Missouri; Sanibel, Florida; and Gladstone, Missouri in under 24 hours. The police officer from St. Louis was killed, and the police officer in St. Louis was listed in critical condition after he was shot.
Sunday Morning (Nov. 20): San Antonio police detective Benjamin Marconi was shot and killed in his squad car while he was writing a ticket. Marconi was writing a ticket in his patrol car when a black Toyota or Nissan pulled up behind the squad car. The offender got out of his vehicle, walked up to the driver’s side door, and shot the officer twice — once in the head. Marconi was transported to San Antonio Military Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. The gunman was described as a black male, about 5’7″ tall, wearing a hoodie and baggy pants.
Sunday night (Nov. 20):
A St Louis police sergeant was shot twice in the head while sitting in his car at about 7:30 p.m. The police officer is expected to survive, but is listed in critical condition. The suspect, who was initially only known to have driven a silver vehicle, was shot and killed very early Monday morning after the he fired his gun at police.Sunday night (Nov. 20): A Sanibel police officer was shot by a drive by shooter in the shoulder just before 8:00 p.m. Sunday during a traffic stop. He was sitting in his squad car during a routine traffic stop when he was shot. He was treated and released. Other police officers later exchanged gunfire with the suspect and the suspect was captured.
Sunday Night (Nov. 20): A Gladstone police officer was shot about 10:30 p.m. after pursuing a teenage passenger that ran from the vehicle during a traffic stop. A struggle ensued when police caught up with the suspect, who then produced a handgun. The suspect was shot and killed, and the police officer suffered a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. the driver was arrested without incident and later released.
A gunman pulled up in a silver car next to a marked Chevy Tahoe and opened fire, St. Louis Police Department Police Chief Sam Dotson told reporters.
