Arlington Heights police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 6:13 AM Wednesday to a report of an apartment fire at “The Residences” apartment building, 2110 South Goebbert Road Arlington Heights, Il. Police and firefighter/paramedics received a report that flames were showing from a heater.
Engine 3’s crew on arrival reports fire showing the a rear sliding glass door; leading out with a line.
Engine 3’s crew reported they knocked the fire by about 6:22 a.m. Engine 3’s crew then extended a line into the apartment to extinguish hot spots by about 6:25 a.m.
Mount Prospect Engine 12 firefighters were checking for extension on the second floor by 6:28 a.m.
Engine 12’s crew reported minor smoke on the second floor.
Firefighters searched for extension on the first floor and reported no extension.
Elk Grove Engine 8 and Arlington Heights Ambulance 2 in staging.
Engine 12 crew reported no extension on the second floor by 6:31 a.m.
The building department was requested to the scene at 6:31 a.m.
E12 crew reported the second floor search was clear at 6:34 a.m.
Tower Ladder 1’s crew reported no extension on the first floor by 6:34 a.m.
A secondary search of the apartment was reported clear by 6:40 a.m.
Engine 2’s crew was assigned to interior with Engine 3’s crew going to rehab by 6:36 a.m.
Engine 12’s crew, using a thermal imaging camera, confirmed no fire extension by 6:44 a.m.
Overhaul was underway by 6:46 a.m.
Chief 105, regarding the fire apartment unit, reported Carbon Monoxide level is clear, and no smoke or dust is visible in the apartment by 6:57 a.m.
