The Chicago Cubs celebration parade is scheduled for Friday — leaving Wrigley Field at 10 AM. The city will honor the World Series Champion Chicago Cubs with a Friday “parade to stand the test of time,” Mayor Rahm Emanuel said Thursday just before noon Thursday.
Mayor Rahm Emanuel said the parade will be held “around this time” — meaning about noon.
The route will begin at Wrigley Field and end in Grant Park, with part of the travel down Lake Shore Drive, and subject to change, officials said.
The parade will travel along Michigan Avenue between Oak Street and Ohio Street, and then along Columbus Drive between Monroe Street and Balbo Avenue.
The parade is expected to reach Grant Park for the rally by lunch time. . The celebration after the parade will take place at Lower Hutchinson Field in Grant Park at about noon, when the parade/motorcade arrives.

Fans at Grant Park must pass through security screening gates at entrances at Michigan Avenue and Jackson Boulevard and at Michigan Avenue and Congress Parkway.
The rally is free and open to public.

The City of Chicago initially had been planning to hold the parade Monday if the Cubs won Game 7, but the Cubs asked to move it up to Friday, a City Hall source said.
