Markham police responded about 3:30 a.m. Sunday October 2, 2016 to a fight in progress at Stadium nightclub at 16300 Dixie Highway. Police report a man in his 20s approached the police officer with a gun, and the police officer shot and and killed the man with the gun.
Police said the officer involved in the shooting, whose identity was not released, is on modified duty until the investigation is completed.
The identity of the fatal shooting victim has been withheld until family is notified.
The location was formerly known as “Adrianna’s” which was the scene of at least eight shootings from 2014-2015.
