Carpentersville police responded about 7:43 PM Wednesday to a report of an armed robbery with shots fired at Oscarin’s Computer Store, 1646 Ravine Lane Carpentersville, IL. Police received a report that two male/black suspects each displayed a handgun and fled the scene after a third suspect was shot. It was not known whether the shooting victim also displayed a weapon.

The armed robbery suspect was fatally shot after at least three suspects allegedly broke into Oscarin’s Computer Store about 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, September 7, 2016. Shots were fired and one of the suspects suffered a gunshot wound. The suspect was transported to a local hospital, and was pronounced dead. Two offenders fled and were last seen northbound on Route 25 from Besinger Drive in a blue Dodge Durango.
One suspect that fled was described as a male/black, wearing a black hat and a black shirt, displaying a handgun. The other suspect that fled was only described as a male black, displaying a handgun.
Investigators were on the scene, but police did not report whether anything was taken during the robbery. Police released very little information, but did reported the incident is being investigated as a robbery and a homicide.
Ravine Lane runs parallel to Route 25, which is just to the east of the store. Lakewood School and Trinity United Methodist Church are located across the street on the same block as the crime scene.
