Miss Arkansas Savvy Shields is Miss America 2017

Miss Arkansas Savvy Shields walked away with the 2017 Miss America Crown, giving her home state its third winner.

Savvy Shield is an art major at the University of Arkansas. Shields is also a jazz dancer and performed “They Just Keep Moving the Line” from the TV show “Smash” for the talent competition.

She won the Miss Arkansas 2016 title, with a platform of “Eat Better, Live Better” and also won the preliminary lifestyle and fitness in swimsuit and preliminary talent awards.

Miss America 2017, the 96th Miss America pageant broadcast on ABC, was held at the Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, New Jersey on Sunday, September 11, 2016. 1st runner-up was Miss South Carolina Rachel Wyatt. 2nd runner-up was Miss New York Camille Sims.
