NYPD and FDNY responded to 135 23rd Street between Sixth Avenue and Seventh Avenue to a report of an explosion with multiple people injured in Chelsea Saturday night.
Preliminary reports indicate at least 26 minor injuries.
FDNY is on the scene with the NYPD Counterterrorism Unit.
Initially there was no impact on subways and trains at Penn Station.
This morning a pipe bomb exploded in Seaside Park, New Jersey near the Semper Five 5K Charity Run Route. The pipe bomb was placed in a garbage can.
