Arlington Heights police received a report about 1:51 PM Thursday of a an attempted vehicle theft 2700 North Buffalo Grove Road Arlington Heights, IL. Police received a report that an unknown offender or offenders damaged the passenger side lock of the victim’s white Jeep Cherokee and gained entry to the vehicle. Inside the vehicle, the ignition cylinder was damaged. Nothing was taken from the vehicle. It appears the offender attempted to steal the vehicle but was unable to get the vehicle running.
The cost to repair the damage was unknown at the time of the police report.
The crime is reported to have occurred between Tuesday, September 13, 2016 at 5:00 PM and Thursday, September 15, 2016 at 1:50 PM. The elapsed time range including the time the crime could have occurred is 44:50 (hours: minutes).
