A Martin County Sheriff’s Office female deputy arrived about 9:20 p.m. Monday August 15, 2016 to a report of an attack at a Tequesta, Florida home, and found a 19-year-old biting a dead man’s face. The 19-year-old Florida State University student with no criminal record was found in the South Florida home at 19009 SE Kokomo Way Monday where a husband and wife were stabbed.

Martin County Sheriff William Snyder told reporters that Florida State University student Austin Harrouff may have been under the influence of hallucinogenic drugs when he attacked Michelle Mishcon, 53, and John Stevens III, 59, in their garage, house and backyard at their Tequesta, Florida, home near Jupiter, Florida.

Friends of a couple that was killed in a double homicide speak about their loss. WPBF Terri Parker reports.

A neighbor, who arrived to help the couple, was also stabbed in the left side of his head and in his back. He had found Michelle Mishcon unresponsive on the driveway.

Authorities say Harrouff had joined his family for dinner at a nearby restaurant– Duffy’s Sports Grill — when he stormed off because he was apparently agitated about slow service at the restaurant. His parents called police and some of his fraternity brothers because they were concerned about his behavior.

Harrouff remains in critical condition following the attack. Doctors and investigators are checking his blood for flakka or bath salts, which are known to cause excited delirium. Flakka, also known as alpha-pyrrolidinovalerophenone, can cause hyperstimulation, paranoia, and hallucinations. Flakka is often the active ingredient in Bath Salts — designer drugs that are disguised to look like regular bath salt, such as Epsom salts.

Harrouff is a sophomore at Florida State University majoring in exercise science. He is muscular and has wrestled and played football at Suncoast Community High School in nearby Riviera Beach, was not previously known to be aggressive, but in a YouTube channel published by Harrouff known as A.Frost, the college sophomore called himself Austie Frosty and used a variety of strange accents while giving tips about bodybuilding and fitness.

WPBF’s Sanika Dange reports about the dozen of revealing YouTube videos that gives an insight into the mind of Austin Harrouff. His mother said he felt immortal like a superhero.

Murder suspect Austin Harrouff posted a video on YouTube saying he was just going to be true to himself.
