Cars engulfed in flames after man backs into pump, ignites fire at Connecticut gas station. Police say everyone had time to evacuate the area following the crash.
A 70-year-old man accidentally backed into a gas pump at a Citgo station at 286 Main Street in Farmington, Connecticut on Monday at about 6:45 p.m.
The impact dislodged and tilted the pump cover, which hit a car parked on the other side of the pump with two children sitting inside the back seat of the car.
In the gas station security video, a female adult is seen immediately removing the two children from the back seat to a safe distance.
No injuries were reported.
Two cars were totalled by the fire, and three other cars were damaged.
