Palatine police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 12:19 PM Wednesday to a report of an activated fire alarm with smoke showing at the Palatine Park District Community Center, 250 East Wood Street Palatine, Il. After the activated fire alarm, firefighters received a report of smoke showing under a brick wall.
BC8 upgrades to a Code 4 at 12:33 p.m.
The fire was apparently contained to a closet in the gymnastics area — not confirmed. Firefighters checking for extension.
The fire appeared to be contained by 12:51 p.m.
Firefighters were working on overhaul and cleanup by 1:02 p.m.
