Command upgraded to an accident with entrapment. Tower Ladder 85 and Palatine Rural Ambulance 36 were assigned at 4:15 a.m. for extra crews and equipment.
Engine 84’s crew on arrival reported two vehicles with heavy damage.
Ambulance 84 was initially transporting one patient to Level I Trauma Center Advocate Lutheran General Hospital.
A second patient extricated by 4:24 a.m.
One ambulance was diverted from Lutheran General Hospital to Northwest Community Hospital for an urgent medical problem.
Patients were initially designated for transportation to Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge and Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights.
